Liverpool has always been a city of music — but for too long, the scene has been dominated by the same ten male-fronted indie bands. Where was the space for baby pop stars? For artists who didn’t fit the mold but still had something fresh and vital to say?

That’s where Pop in the Pool comes in. We’re a non-profit organisation dedicated to bridging the gap in the independent music scene. We put on free gigs showcasing Liverpool’s emerging pop artists, giving them a stage, a platform, and a community.

Our gigs run entirely on tips — shared equally between the artists. Performers can choose to keep their share, donate it to causes like Palestine Aid or Cancer Research, or reinvest it back into Pop in the Pool to help us grow.

Founded by Giorgia Bortoli, our vision is to build a home for grassroots pop — not just for the artists, but for the listeners, dreamers, and pop lovers who want to see Liverpool’s music culture evolve.
